Because Count Dooku has established his secret headquarters here, the Republic Army has made a surprise attack. Dooku has managed to escape, but there are still many important Separatists left to capture. The Jedi's squad has been assigned to trap Ly Merrbil, a scientist involved in the Separatist Army's weapons program.
