The previously untitled Clone Wars duology by Steve Perry and Michael Reaves now has a name; The Medstar Duology--MEDSTAR I: BATTLE SURGEONS and MEDSTAR II: HEALER.  These paperback novels are scheduled for July and October 2004 releases respectively.  Here's an excerpt of what the stories are about:

March 18: New Clone Wars Story

The Official Site announced LEGACY OF THE JEDI today:

Four generations of Jedi have faced a common enemy, and their tale featuring some of the most revered and powerful Jedi warriors is being told in an upcoming hardcover book from Scholastic Inc.

Star Wars: Legacy of the Jedi, an epic tale of four generations of Jedi is by Jude Watson, the best-selling author of the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest series. It features cover illustration by David Mattingly, with design by Keirsten Geise. It is scheduled for release on August 2003.

Click Here for the full story.

In short, this book will be divided into four sections. One with Yoda and his apprentice Dooku, one with Dooku and his apprentice Qui-Gon Jinn, one with Qui-Gon and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, and one with Obi-Wan and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. The very last part will be set during the Clone Wars. The common enemy, Lorian Nod, will be in all four sections.

Remember, the last time Jude Watson came out with a new "stand alone" book it turned out to be the pilot for the JEDI QUEST series. So don't be surprised if this turns out to be the pilot for some other new series!

March 17: New Bounty Hunter / Anakin's New Ship

Sorry if these updates are late but I've been busy. The Official Site has a couple of Clone Wars updates:

First is a first look at Durge, a new Bounty Hunter we will see starting in REPUBLIC #51, which hits the stands this Wednesday. Click here to see the picture of him stomping Obi-Wan as well as a picture of his action figure.

Second is Anakin's new modified Jedi Starfighter. He just couldn't resist-remember he modifies the Tie fighter later as Darth Vader. Click here to see pics of it . It has been confirmed that this new fighter will probably be seen in REPUBLIC sometime after the Battle of Jabiim story arc. Look for it around issue #60 or so.

March 6: Clone Wars TPB Volumes Update

I posted my guesses for the Clone Wars trade paperbacks over at the Official Site's message board.  Here is the answer I got from Chris Cerasi, editor at LucasBooks:

You are pretty close, my friend! You are absolutely correct about Volume 1. Volume 2 is 51-53 and Shaak Ti (Jedi 2), Volume 3 is 55-59 and Volume 4 is 54 and Aayla and Dooku (Jedi 3 and 4).

Randy Stradley, editor for Dark Horse Comics, said on the Dark Horse Comics message board:

"But, the next JEDI installment features some battle scenes and, though it's five issues away, so does the four-issue arc that begins in REPUBLIC #55."

  • Volume 2 - 51, 52, SHAAK TI.
  • Volume 3 - 53, 54, AAYLA SECURA.
  • Volume 4 - 55, 56, 57, 58.
