October 26, 2004: Awesome Interviews!
New Interivew: Karen Traviss

Her eperiences in the British Military Reserve and as a Defense Correspondent bring something new to the table: a knowledge and understanding of the military that most writers could only hope to have. A relativly new author, Karen Travis has already gained enough recognition to write for Star Wars. Not only did she write Republic Commando: Hard Contact, a tie-in to the upcoming Video Game, but she is also slated to write three books in a 9-book series set approxamatly 10 years after the end of The New Jedi Order Series.

New Interivew: Michael Reaves
Not to steal any thunder from Karen, but I thought I'd give you all a double dose of goodness. We have a brand new interview with Michael Reaves, co-author of Medstar I: Battle Surgeons and Medstar II: Jedi Healer, as well as future author of three post-Revenge of the Sith novels called CORUSCANT NIGHTS.

In other news, I'm happy to report that our Timeline is completly up-to-date! I think... If you notice anything still missing from it, or in need of correction, let us know.
As you may know, our Timeline is broken down by the Month, based on HoloNet News dating standards, and a 12-month calender system. You can either view each month on it's own webpage, or you can view the entire Timeline
HERE.
Also stay tuned in the coming weeks for a revival of the Fan Fiction section, including a 4-page preview of the Yoda fan comic you've probably given up on by now.

October 20, 2004: Lot's of News!
Sorry about the little dry spell on news lately. My computer has been in the shop. I’m going to try to start updating once a week, so stay tuned.
And here’s the news:
Upcoming Books
October 26th sees the release of two exciting novels from DelRey! Republic Commando: Hard Contact (a tie-in to the Video Game due out in February) and Jedi Trial (this one looks like it could be The Definitive Clone Wars Novel) both hit the shelves this Tuesday! StarWars.com has a new article on Commando's author, Karen Traviss
here. And as we reported previously, an excerpt of Jedi Trial can be found
here.
Also, the wait for a novel about Yoda will soon be over! Yoda: Dark Rendezvous by Sean Stewart hits shelves on November 23rd. For some fans the wait will be even shorter. StarWars.com is offering 25 fans the opportunity to win an advance copy of the book, in exchange for a nice review of course ;). You have until November 1st to enter. Click
here for details.
Young Readers
There are new details and cover art for Jude Watson's Secrets of the Jedi, the sequel to Legacy of the Jedi:
Obi-Wan, Siri and the boy they tried to save are reunited once more -- with the fate of the Clone Wars hinging on the outcome. Old tensions rise once more -- as well as new conflicts and secrets. Obi-Wan's apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, has many things to hide, and when his secret wife, Padmé Amidala, joins the Jedi mission, the risk becomes even greater than before.

Reversal of Fortune. If you don’t have Hyperspace, fear not. We’ll get a summary of the events up soon!
Darkhorse Previews
Darkhorse.com now has previews up for
Republic #70 and
Obsession #1!
January Comics
If you thought the comics announced for November and December looked awesome, just look at what’s in store for January!…
Obsession #3
In the time before Episode III, Obi-Wan's quest for Asajj Ventress has lured him and Anakin Skywalker aboard a drifting space wreck. There, the Jedi must face off against the seemingly unkillable foe. Anakin has learned to be unstoppable too, by tapping into his unrestrained power. Separated from Obi-Wan, Anakin gives into his power, and squares off against Durge as no Jedi has before.
Republic #73
Two of the most deadly challenges faced by Aayla Secura in recent years have been the Anzati and the Morgukai. The Anzati assassins are a vampiric species of centuries-old killers. The Morgukai were a fanatical cult of Nikto warriors whose strength and tenacity made them dangerous adversaries to even trained Jedi. She survived both threats intact, but now, the two have joined forces. The Separatists are employing Morgukai in large numbers, trained by Anzati masters working for Count Dooku. Together, Master Tholme and Aayla Secura have uncovered this plot, but can they disrupt it before it's too late?
Clone Wars Adventures #3
The Republic's forces, led by the Jedi, find themselves drawn ever-deeper into Darth Sidious' evil web. With stories covering all aspects of the Clone Wars -- from the trials of the revered Jedi Master Yoda, to the tribulations of the lowliest clone troopers fighting on the front lines, to the wicked machinations of the dreaded Count Dooku and General Grievous -- these fast-paced tales feature a unique look into the world of Star Wars and at the events that shook the galaxy far, far away...
Empire #29
You remember Jabiim, don't you? A water-logged mudworld that served as a grueling battlefront during the Clone Wars. Decades later, the ruling Galactic Empire is starting to lose interest in the world, as the planet's valuable ores are dwindling. Palpatine is not yet willing to pull the last of his troopers off Jabiim, despite the repeated harassment of the local Jabiimi rebels. The Rebel Alliance arrives to support the locals, but as Luke Skywalker sets foot on the planet, he realizes he's stepping into his father's shadow. A generation ago, Anakin Skywalker served on Jabiim, and the locals haven't forgotten... or forgiven.
(Note: This isn’t set during the Clone Wars, but readers of Republic #55-58 will definitely want read this one to find out what became of Jabiim, one of the Clone Wars’ fiercest battlegrounds.)
