Semptember 18, 2004: Clone Wars wins Emmy! Upcoming comics!

It's been a little while between news stories, but we've finally gotten some good ones together: Clone Wars Series wins Emmy Award! In the most recent awards ceremony, the animated Clone Wars series has won the the award for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour Or More). This award is held anually for television programming, and was held in Los Angeles this past weekend and will be broadcasted on the 18th of September on E! network. Congradulations to the entire team who created the series, and we look forwards to your work this next spring. Preview up for Republic 69 Up In anticipation for the upcoming release of Republic 69, the first of a trilogy, Dark Horse comics has released a four page preview of the issue, which will be bringing two storylines, that of Obi-Wan and Anakin and the Quinlan Vos one together. While Jedi Masters Saesee Tiin and Plo Koon fight to prevent a fleet of ships from falling into Separatist hands, Obi-Wan Kenobi discovers that the Separatists are not without dissension in their own ranks! On board the drifting hulk of a massive research ship, Obi-Wan finds himself taking sides with dark Jedi Quinlan Vos-who is wanted for the murder of a Senator-against another foe. Vos was once his friend, and the other enemy is one with whom Obi-Wan has crossed swords before. But has Obi-Wan been too hasty in deciding the lesser of two evils? Has Quin become the heartless killer everyone believes him to be? And will he help Obi-Wan escape the apparent death trap into which they fall, or abandon him to save his own skin? As we enter the home stretch leading to next year's Episode III release, the events in Republic are coming to a collision point that is not to be missed! The preview can be seen Here December Comics Okay, we're a little behind. TOS also has information on the comics coming for December. Obsession #2 will be released, as Obi-Wan and Anakin work on their search for Asajj Ventress, only to be caught by the bounty hunter Durge. The newly revamped Tales series will also be released with a new issue, this one with a story relating to the upcoming Republic Commando game. Finally, the story and cover for Republic 72 is also included. With Quinlan Vos captured by the Republic, the information he provides could be crucial to winning the Clone Wars. Or, it could all be a cleverly-engineered trap. Jedi Master Tholme must carefully weigh these risks as he dispatches his best agent, Aayla Secura, to the Outer Rim in the hopes of verifying Vos' story. The Clone Wars are nearing their end, and each mission can determine victory or failure! It looks like we're in for a good stretch of comics in these next couple months. Clone Wars Adventure Series 2 Darkhorse comics has also released information on their second Trade Paperback Digest edition of the Clone Wars series inspired comics. Like the first one, the artwork will be similar, and we'll be getting several short stories about various characters from the Clone Wars. For more information, check out the Dark Horse Comics page.
