July 14, 2004: Insider #77 details, Interview with Andrew Robinson (artist for "Changing Seasons"), exclusive First Look at the art for "Changing Seas
TUCWS has secured some details on the upcoming, newly revamped Star Wars Insider. According to the editor-in-chief, Brett Rector, IDG isn't looking to reinvent the hyperdrive, but "are striving to give the magazine more visual appeal to better convey the grandeur of the films." Rector goes on to say that new names have been given to some regular Insider departments. "We are still going to include the same departments within the magazine, but we've reworked the names on those as well to better bridge the gap between print and film. For example, we are now calling "Comics Link" "Drawn by the Forceā and "Bookshelf" "Jedi Library."
Still don't have Hyperspace? Well, Rector and his team will be expanding the "Best of Hyperspace" section in each issue by devoting four extra pages to the section. So expect even more never-before-seen images and more webcam shots to whet your palette.
As fans may have heard, Bantha Tracks will be included into every issue of Insider, but now a minimum of six pages will be dedicated to each issue.
Rector also gives assurances to collecting and gaming fans. "I'm also proud that we will still cover as much on collectibles as possible (I'm a huge collector myself) and that we are including an actual dedicated games section, aptly titled "Anchorhead Arcade.""
Rector envisions Insider to be more than just a typical magazine. "What we want for the magazine is to have readers and fans feel like they have something worth displaying on a coffee table to show off to friends and family. In essence, we want each issue to be a collector's item. The people here at IDG Entertainment who are working on the mag are all passionate Star Wars fans, and the magazine will certainly reflect our passion issue after issue. I'll be eager to know what you think about the magazine once it hits stands late July/ early August."
We at TUCWS are looking forward to seeing what IDG has to offer. Good luck with the magazine!

Included in the next installment of Star Wars Insider (#77) is Timothy Zahn's Clone Wars short story, Changing Seasons II: "People of the Guardian" which features Anakin and Obi-Wan.
To celebrate the release of the story and the revamping of Star Wars Insider, TUCWS has
a new interview with the artist of the two-part short story, Andrew Robinson. For fans that don't quite know Robinson, he was the cover artist for Star Wars Tales #19 and
Star Wars Character Record Sheets. He's also done work in the various Star Wars RPG Rulebooks.
As a special bonus to our readers, we also have an exclusive First Look at the art for part 2 of Changing Seasons. Click the link below to read the Q&A and view some of Andrew's spectacular art.

July 1st, 2004: Medstar I: Battle Surgeons: In Stores Now
The first Clone Wars adult paperback novel, Medstar I: Battle Surgeons, hit bookstores this past Tuesday. Below is the text from the back cover of the novel:
A surgeon who covers his despair with wisecracks: another who faces death and misery head-on, venting his emotions through beautiful music...A nurse with her heart in her work and her eye on a doctor...A JediPadawan on a healing mission withour her Master...These are the core members of a tiny med unit serving the jungle world of Drongar, where battle is waged over the control of a priceless native plant, and and endless line of medlifters brings in the wounded and dying--mostly clone troopers, but also soldiers of all species.
While the healers work desperately to save lives, others plot secretly to profit from the war--either by dealing on the black market or by manipulating the events of the war itself. In the end, though, all will face individual tests, and only those of compassionate hearts and staunch spirits can hope to survive to fight another day.
To celebrate the release of Battle Surgeons, TUCWS has conducted an interview with the book's creators: authors Michael Reaves and Steve Perry, and cover artist, Dave Seeley. Click the links below to read what they had to say. Beware: SPOILERS ABOUND!
