Publisher: Dark Horse Comics Reviewed by Andrew Liptak
Summary: After finding a rendezvous that might lead him to Asajj Ventress, Obi-Wan recruits Anakin Skywalker to help him take whoever they find down. At the spot, they find the ship, with it's entire crew dead, with the bounty hunter Durge responsible and lurking on the ship.
What Worked: This issue was exciting. It's nice to have a very tightly scripted story, and to have the next installment line up perfectly. Obi-Wan's obsession with Asajj has broken Padme away from Anakin yet again, and there is some clear tension between these two. There are also some nice scenes in which Republic is being referenced, with the Confederation being pulled back to the outer rim, where the Republic action is taking place. Through this brief scene, we can really see some tension between the Jedi Council and the Supreme Chancellor. The art is fairly well done, if not up to the Jabiim Arc's standards, but with some great framing and angles that can really convey some aspects of the tensions in the story, without saying much. There's a great moment when Anakin says to Durge: "Dodge this." A la Matrix style. There are some impressive shading going on that really hasn't been done before, which also adds to the scene. The action is exciting as Durge ambushes the two Jedi, and there's some interesting action, with flying shrapnel, lightsabers, electric cords and explosions. Durge is still an annoying character, but he knows how to fight, and while he's not my favorite villain, I'm glad to see some change from Asajj Ventress.
What Didn't Work: I thought that the only real thing lacking in this issue was the art. Ching's work with the four issues of Jabiim was outstanding, but it seems to be done a little softer here, which doesn't really work here. But other than that, nothing else is wrong with the issue, except the wait for the next one.
Overall, The exciting continuation of the Obsession miniseries. Rating: 8.5/10
