Summary: On the Planet Thustra, a battle rages on while the Republic tries to hold onto another planet that wants to leave. Only this time, the leader is a personal friend of Jedi Master Yoda, and there are more plans going on than meet the eye.
What Worked: This issue was a bit mixed for me. Storywise, it's a very good one. There are several elements that really work here. One, the relationship between Master Yoda and King Alaric are very interesting, and very moralistic. While Yoda is a prisoner, he is honorable as such, as is the King. Their entire arrangement felt very Japanese to me for some reason, maybe because I had just seen The Last Samuri shortly before reading this issue. The political situation is interesting, where the Republic lands with a large show of force, but with no intentions of using it. This doesn't make the most sense, but there is some logic there. The twists and turns that this issue takes is very interesting, and fairly surprising, and work very well. General characterization is fairly good, with another padawan falling to the dark side because of impatience, and of course some cool Clones interspersed throughout the issue. Art-wise, I'm mixed. There are some excellent drawings here in this issue, of characters and whatnot, but…
What Didn't Work: … the artwork is not consistent. There are almost three distinct styles, one of them blatant CGI, and another that is similar to anime. Some parts I like, some I don't, but the mixing and meshing is weird and very distracting.
Overall: While it doesn't tie in to the other Jedi comics, this is a fair issue and worth reading.
