Clone Wars: Chapter 5

Publisher: Cartoon Network

Art Director: Paul Rudish
Original Air Date: November 13, 2003

Summary: Kit Fisto leads an assault force on Mon Calamari where Confederation factions have taken control of the government and assumed control. The ships land in water and the Republic clone troopers and Kit go under water to take back the city. While under water, they find a large Separatist cannon, which they take out after loosing one Republic lander.

What Worked: This episode leaves the battle of Muunilinst, which is nice, mainly because it shows that the Clone Wars take place over multiple worlds, in many environments and led by Jedi other than Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. This episode was a nice break from the city battles, showing us some excellent scenery of the water world of Mon Calamari, and of Kit Fisto, one of my favorite characters. In addition to another world, it was good to see the war being fought in another environment.

What Didn't Work: Like all of the others, and I'll say it again, this episode is a little too short. It would be interesting to see more of the battle, the planning and assault on the cities there, but the three minutes don't allow for much other than action. Along with that, it had very little dialog, which seems to be something of a trend in these cartoons. Other than that, an interesting episode.
