Significance in the Clone Wars
Pengalan IV was a small planet in the Clone Wars, but contained what seemed to be an experimental missile production facility, which could supply the confederacy with numerous anti-starfighter weapons if left alone. The Republic military dispatched an Assault Cruiser to take care of it, wit a full platoon of Clones to take care of the job. The planet was a trap and deception. Someone warned the Pengalan Separatists that the Republic was coming, and they set up fake shield generators and called for reinforcements. The Clones on the ground were slaughtered, but the facility fell due to the work of an elite unit of Clones that survived.
