Significance in the Clone Wars
Haruun Kal is situated at the crossroads of a Hyperspace Route intersection, making the planet a vital location for both the Republic and Confederation. The Separatists moved onto the planet and swayed some of the locals in the populated areas to be part of the Confederation. The rest of the population was more neutral, but due to civil wars, they opted to side with the Republic. The Republic sent in several Intelligence agents and Jedi, who worked to train resistance fighters to get rid of the Confederation. The move ultimately succeeded, although the Republic was forced to move back in after a search mission for one of their Jedi went missing. After the main battle, which included a space battle and ground fight, the planet fell back into the hands of the Republic.
