Significance in the Clone Wars
The Capital of the galaxy where the Galactic Senate administers the Republic. For the duration of the Republic, Coruscant has been the center, ruling and dictating to keep order throughout the galaxy. The Jedi Temple, which is the center for the Jedi in the Galaxy, is also located on Coruscant, and this is where the Jedi receive their training and orders. The origins of the Clone Wars begin right on Coruscant, where corruption in the senate allowed the Sith order to begin manipulating figures in the senate to form a Separatist movement against the Republic, splitting it, and the Jedi along their ideals. As of yet, there has not been any major conflicts on or over Coruscant.
