Significance in the Clone Wars
Site of a successful battle for the Republic. Bassadro, a Separatist-held planet, was a major mining world. The Republic moved in and engaged the enemy forces, forcing them back behind the cover of volcanic ridges, and into villages. The Jedi commanders in charge of the Republic Forces order the Clones to open fire on the obsidian ridges, turning the area into a death trap of flying, razor sharp shrapnel that destroyed much of the Droid army and forcing the Separatist commander, Major Domb Treebor, to surrender the world to the Republic. It is possible that the Republic acquired many of the mining systems in place.
