Journey to Alderaan

Key Characters

Obi-Wan Kenobi, 68-RKO, Agustus Tryll, Captain Quasar

Setting the Stage

General Obi-Wan Kenobi is a passenger on a pleasure cruiser to Alderaan. Droid 68-RKO, on his way to serve Prince Bail Organa, befriends Kenobi. A criminal named Augustus Tryll tries unsuccessfully to hire Kenobi on a venture.

The Journey

As the liner nears the Merson asteroid belt, Captain Quasar asks for Kenobi's help to defend the cruiser against Merson slaver pirates.  As he defends the ship against attack, he learns that a signal from the cruiser is guiding the pirates to them. He has to defend Tryll from the angry passengers who think he sold them out. He finds and destroys the signal -- a fermenter machine. The ship goes on to Alderaan in peace.

Note:  Pablo Hidalgo, Starwars.com administrator and HoloNet News writer, had this to say about Silent Drifting: "Obi-Wan is referred to as General. So that would suggest that it is during the Clone Wars." Click here for the discussion thread at starwars.com.

Philip Simon, the Dark Horse Comics editor for the A Long Time Ago collections, had this to say about Silent Drifting: "Obi-Wan, traveling to Alderaan, encounters a DROID owned by Bail (Bail never appears) and helps a pleasure cruiser avoid being overtaken by slavers. We never see Alderaan either, sorry! And this story is set in the "peaceful" days of the Old Republic...not the Clone Wars."

We have conflicting stories from "official" sources. Use your own discretion when deciding when and "if" this took place. If anything, it's just a cool story.

The Battle of Skye

Key Characters

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader???

Setting the Stage

Much apocrypha tends to obscure the events upon the planet Skye during the Clone Wars, particularly concerning the involvement of a number of the Jedi Knights in the planet’s defense. Certain records claim that, in addition to the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his then-apprentice Anakin Skywalker, a supposed third Jedi also took part in this affair; presumably as part of the same entourage. One set of accounts even claim this “mystery Jedi” to be none other than Darth Vader himself! However, with many historical truths from this era having made themselves known to scholars over the past decades – including primary testimonials given by Skywalker’s own offspring concerning his duel identities as both Jedi Knight and Sith Lord – these latter versions of the story may now be officially discounted as being non-evidentiary.

The Battle

What happened is unknown, but Anakin and Obi-Wan definitely played a major role in the battle, and subsequent victory.

Outcome

Skye is defended by Republic forces led by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Battle of Dreighton

Key Characters

Republic and CIS forces

Setting the Stage

There exists some mystery surrounding the Battle of Dreighton, insofar that both combatants’ respective forces were equally obliterated within the namesake Dreighton Nebula.

The Battle

The forces under Old Republic command sought to engage Confederacy ships in what would have ordinarily been a well-executed assault; however, the question remained, what could cause such a massive phenomenon of annihilation on that scale, and why? The question itself would persist for some twenty years or thereabouts; plaguing a new generation of historians as much as the earlier one.

Outcome

Both the Confederacy and Republic forces were destroyed by the Dreighton Nebula.

The Battle of the Sluis Sector

Key Characters

Yoda and various Dark Jedi from Bpfassh.

Setting the Stage

During the upheaval of the Clone Wars, a sect of Dark Jedi from Bpfassh staged an uprising in the Sluis Sector.

The Battle

They were ultimately defeated, but they caused a lot of upheaval and destruction first.  One particular adept made it as far as Dagobah, where Yoda battled and defeated him. (Going by this, it seems that Yoda was already familiar with the planet, possibly staking out potential hiding-spots for the future.) The "Magic Tree" in Return of the Jedi is where this Dark Jedi was defeated and his energy formed a nexus there.

Outcome

The Bpfassh Dark Jedi were destroyed and their uprising was thwarted.
