The Battle of Jabiim

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, "Alpha", Aubrie Wyn, Sirrus, Kass Tod, Alto Stratus, Captain Gillmunn, clone troopers, The Nimbus Commandos, Dalnus Cam, Sana-Jis Ilowa, Rallcema Bylissura, and many more...

Setting the Stage

According to a HoloNet News article on 14:7:02, "Despite last hour negotiations spearheaded by the Alderaanian Diplomatic Corps, have described war on Jabiim as "inevitable".  A sparsely inhabited planet in the neighboring Handooine system has become a Republic staging area for military engagements likely to start within the standard month."

A Confederacy ShadowFeed Dispatch on 14:9:08 shows the other side of the story.  Jabiimite Separatist leader, Alto Stratus, is becoming something of a folk hero among the Outer Rim Separatist worlds.  Here is a small portion of the famous speech that stirred up the people against the Republic, "For Three Thousand years we were loyal to the Republic.  But did they send aid during the Brainrot plague?  Did they react when the Trandoshans invaded?  Where were the Jedi when Lythian pirates killed your parents...and mine?  The Republic ignored our cries for help -- until they learned that beneath all the mud -- our planet has a heart of ore!  Now, they want to control the ore -- to prevent us from profiting from trade with the Confederacy of Independent Systems!  We will let the Jedi Generals know that we will fight to be free!  We will fight to defend our planet!  We will send the Jedi home in caskets!" From this we can see that war on Jabiim is most definitely "inevitable."

The Battle - Part 1: Rainmakers

Two Jabiimite Rebels are talking in a bunker. The topic of conversation quickly turns to the Jedi and how awful they are, including a joke about "stealing babies."  Suddenly they feel a tremor, but it's not a ground quake. It's a Republic Battle group led by not one, but four, All Terrain Armored Transports.  AT-ATs! They quickly discover that the armor is too thick to penetrate. The two of them, and the rest of the rebels, make run for it.

Leading the Republic forces are the ARC Trooper Alpha, General Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. Alpha sees a rebel wounded and starts to shoot him.  Anakin tells him not to. Alpha is about to do it anyway when General Kenobi backs up his apprentice. Alpha reluctantly agrees to spare the man.

All this is going on while they fight fiercely with the Jabiimite Rebels. Alpha suggests that a flanking force could prevent an enemy retreat. Obi-Wan contacts Kass of the "Padawan Pack" and instructs them to carry out the flanking. Alpha makes some snide remarks about the "pack" before Kass reminds him that he is still on the air.

Meanwhile, Jedi Master Sirrus and his apprentice, Aubrie, find a dying rebel laying on the ground. Sirrus tells her to heal the man and comments that she is one of the Temple's best healers. Kass reports to Obi-Wan that no one escaped.

As they regroup, General Kenobi notes that the absence of Confederacy forces is making him nervous. Back at camp, they can discuss things. Obi-Wan tries to offer some wisdom when Anakin is upset about the Jabiimite attitude toward Jedi.  Using Aubrie as an example, he points out that Jedi heal as well as kill people.

Obi-Wan talks to Sirrus, who mentions how upset Aubrie is. She was asked to train with Mace Windu but the battle at Jabiim meant a change of plans. Obi-Wan tells Sirrus about the situation on the planet and shows him a hologram of Alto Stratus's now famous speech to the Jabiimite Rebels.  The war seems to mostly be about the control of the ore found within the planet. Captain Gillmunn, one of the few remaining Loyalists on Jabiim, tells about Alto's special commando unit called the "Nimbus."

Alpha has a disagreement with Obi-Wan on what should be done. But if it were up to the ARC, half of the people on the planet would be dead. Alpha ends his lecture by saying that the Confederacy will find their weak spot and exploit it.

Knowing the the storm is scrambling the Republic's sensors, Alto Stratus leads a surprise attack on Shelter Base. With Confederate Battle Droids and Nimbus Commandos at his side, he leads a deadly charge against the Republic.

A female Jedi reports everything to be clear at Shelter Base. Suddenly an AT-AT blows up and the clone troopers find themselves overrun by hundreds of super battle droids.

A male Jedi tries to call for help as Hailfire Droids arrive. Just when they are needed most, the Republic ground vehicles get stuck in the mud. A female Jedi tries to use the Force to unstick one of the walkers. Stratus sneaks up on her and puts her in a choke hold. At the same time he stabs his sword into her back, killing her. Dalnus Cam, Sana-Jis Ilowa, and Rallcema Bylissura all were also killed in the Shelter Base attack.

Blue blaster fire narrowly misses Stratus. Alpha, Anakin, and Obi-Wan have arrived in a speeder with reinforcements! Anakin attacks Alto, telling him he has one chance to surrender. The Jabiimite leader just scoffs at him.

The Battle rages on. On Obi-Wan's instructions, Alpha begins firing at the Nimbus Commando's repulsor boots to "ground" them.  Alpha sees an AT-AT still operational. Kenobi tells him to protect it, but a group of Nimbus Commandos plant charges on the walker's legs and it falls to the ground.

Obi-Wan, Alpha, and Sirrus go to the AT-AT to evacuate the troops inside it before the rest of it blows.

Anakin, with Aubrie and a few clones by his side, reports to Obi-Wan that their section of the base is secure.

On Kenobi's orders, Anakin and Aubrie are about to join him at the AT-AT when suddenly...it blows up! Anakin yells, "Master!" at the top of his lungs as he and Aubrie dive to the ground to avoid the explosion. It appears that the clones in the AT-AT, Alpha, Jedi Master Sirrus, and General Obi-Wan Kenobi are all dead.

Outcome

Jabiimite Rebel forces backed by the Confederacy ravaged the Republic's Shelter Base in the second week of open hostilities on Jabiim. This resulted in dozens of casualties, including 32 clones from the "43rd Killer-Aiwha" Battalion. Obi-Wan, Alpha, and Sirrus are missing-in-action and Dalnus Cam, Sana-Jis Ilowa, and Rallcema Bylissura are all confirmed as being dead. Several other Jedi lost their lives too.

The Republic vehicles did not fare well either. Many of them, including the prototype AT-AT walkers were stuck in the mud that resulted from almost constant rainfall.

The Mission to Katanos VII

Key Characters

Lunis, Obs Kaj, Stiv Kram, Jing, Andru, Count Dooku

Setting the Stage

Jedi Master Lunis and his young Padawan learner, Obs Kaj, travel to mining planet Katanos VII to investigate suspected illegal cloning on the planet. Unbeknownst to the Jedi, Stiv Kram, the mining colony leader, has secretly sided with Count Dooku. Apparently, the Republic ignored Katanos VII's calls for help in the past and Dooku promised to help the planet. Kram plans to collect the bounties on the two Jedi in hopes of using the money to rebuild the mining colony.

Also, Lunis and Obs' Master/Padawan relationship has been on the rocks lately and Obs is considering leaving the Jedi Order.

The Mission

Upon landing on Katanos VII, Lunis and Obs meet with Stiv Kram. A scruffy-looking man named Andru and a kid named Jing take the Jedi to meet with Kram.

Obs spots some cloning tanks in the middle of one of Kram's lies and the Katanoites attack the Jedi. They send gundarks armored with cortosis, an ore impenetrable by a lightsaber, after the Master and Padawan. Lunis warns Obs to only use non-lethal deflections. They fight the gundarks and try to retreat. In the process, Jing is killed by one of the gundarks. Lunis then gets caught off-guard by a gundark as he tells Obs to get to the ship. The battle is over and Lunis falls.

Obs passes Andru, who's clutching Jing's dead body, on her way to the ship. He lets her pass realizing that they, the Katanoites, are the real enemies, not the Jedi. Kram yells to not let the Padawan escape.

Obs does get to her ship, which is not really fit for hyperspace travel. As she flies away, she sends a message and a mysterious ship hails her. It is actually Count Dooku and he orders a droid to destroy her ship. She perishes.

Kram and Andru discuss Dooku's bounty. The Count only gives them 6,000 credits for killing Lunis, but doesn't give them credits for Obs. Kram seems to think that they are ruined and suggest that the run and hide from the Jedi. Andru looks very guilty and defeated.

Outcome

The Katanoites are on the run from the Jedi. Lunis, Obs Kaj, and Jing all die in the malay.
