Setting the Stage

The Jedi Council has received a desperate message from Tatooine. Their informant, Raala Ponchar, has information vital to the Republic, but they lost contact after that. Mace Windu and Yoda called Anakin Skywalker (shortly after the wedding) to investigate on Tatooine.

The Mission

Upon arriving on Tatooine, Anakin fights through some womp rats and finds a wrecked speeder with Trade Federation droids. It turns out the Confederacy was also looking for Raala. Anakin fights through them and ends up in Mos Espa. Anakin talks to some citizens, but had to kill the womp rats in the town. The citizens were complaining about it. Anakin talks to a hooded person (who turns out to be Aurra Sing). Aurra tells Anakin to go to the cave west of Mos Espa at the Xelric's Draw. Anakin goes west fighting through the womp rats and is at the womp rats' nest. It turns out that 6 anoobas were the ones scaring away most of the womp rats. Anakin kills those anoobas along with the womp rats. Anakin finds out that there is something else going on.

Upon exiting, Anakin found Aurra Sing (out of the disguise) and sensed her presence when he was in town. Aurra said, "You Jedi are so predictable. Always showing up to help others. The Council did not help me when I was young." Anakin snaps back, "The Jedi stand for justice and peace, not the hatred and violence you profess. I'm sure you had nothing to do with the womp rat problem in town." Aurra said, "I expected you not to survive in the cave. My employers warned me of your powers, but I've hunted Jedi before. Let's see how you do against my associates... and this thermal detonator!" Aurra throws the thermal detonator, but Anakin quickly escapes. Anakin fought through Jabba's men and Trade Federation battle droids.

By the time Anakin heads to Mos Espa, a citizen greets him and thanks him for stopping the womp rat plague. Anakin tells him he has to find Raala. The citizen does not know, but Anakin is directed to Watto. Another citizen tells Anakin that the Hutt's assassins are in town looking for something or someone (which is probably Anakin). Anakin fights through them and then talks to Watto. Watto is under the wrong impression, "I thought it would be another ten years, but you miss old Watto, eh?" Anakin replies, "I'm looking for Raala Ponchar- maybe you've seen her?" Watto was disappointed, "All business, now, eh, Ani? Fine, fine- yes, I see this woman. She sometimes comes to the shop and buys vaporator equipment." You want to find her, go to the moisture farms. Head out through the north gate. But why? A Jedi can do better than some dusty farm girl, eh? What happened to the pretty girl I saw you with last time (referring to Padmé)? She was some looker, heh, heh, heh." Anakin responds, "She's in trouble, Watto. I've come to help her." Watto says, "Sure, yes. But what can the Jedi help with these days? Trouble everywhere. Bad for business. You'd be better off coming back to work for me, I think, eh?" Anakin says "No thanks." Watto was disappointed again, "Ah big Jedi! Too important now to care about old friends." Anakin says good bye to Watto. Watto advices Anakin not to be such a stranger.

Anakin exits Mos Espa and encounters a farmer. The farmer tells Anakin that Tusken Raiders destroyed the homesteads and the others were captured. Anakin replies that he does not have any love for Tuskens, and then frees 7 other farmers while killing the Tuskens. Anakin is lead to the moisture farms. Anakin finds a farmer looking at the wrecked homestead. Anakin asks what happened. The farmer replies that it was a droid he has never seen before. The droids leveled everything and Tuskens are now trying to find parts to salvage. Anakin told the farmer about his mission. The farmer told him that Raala works for Bellek and is north from the homestead. On his way there, Anakin finds a new type of battle droid, the Cortosis droids.

Cortosis droids are bulky and has Cortosis arms to resist most of the attacks. Only doing an overhead slash in the middle will work. The middle section is the weak point since it's unprotected. Anakin discovers Bellek. Bellek tells Anakin that Raala has been captured. Bellek concludes that she's at Jabba's palace. Bellek tells Anakin that the quickest way to Jabba's palace is through Tusken territory. Bellek also tells Anakin to tell Raala that he has her wages.

Anakin goes through fighting the Tusken opposition. Anakin arrives at Jabba's entrance to find Aurra. Aurra says that he shouldn't have come here, and will enjoy watching him die. Anakin says he is sorry to disappoint her, but is Force choked by a Dark Jedi named Saato. She tells Aurra to contact her master (Dooku, who else?) that the Jedi won't be a threat to their operation. Anakin wakes up in the dungeon to be Raala's cellmate. Anakin asks Raala what she learned (after being introduced). Raala does not want to answer, but Anakin opens the door by using the Force. Raala picks up Anakin's lightsaber. Anakin tests if it is working commenting that Obi-Wan hates it when Anakin loses a lightsaber, saying it's convenient that the guards left it outside the cell. Raala tells Anakin that Jabba was hired by the Techno Union Army leader, Wat Tambor, to facilitate smuggling operations in Tatooine. It turns out Jabba was smuggling huge shipments of construction materials and something called Cortosis. Raala guessed it has to do something with those new droids that Anakin encountered back at the moisture farms. It is headed to Metalorn. Anakin reminds Raala that Bellek has her wages. Before they escape, they free the other prisoners. Raala escapes her own way while Anakin escapes through the rear of the dungeon. Anakin commandeers a skiff, but is shot down by the Dark Jedi, Saato. Saato compliments Anakin that his master has prepared him well, but then tells Anakin he won't do so well when he gets caught by the Sarlacc. Anakin fights Saato and defeats her. Anakin takes out a holoprojector and tells Obi-Wan what he learned. Obi-Wan tells Anakin that he did a good job, but he needs Anakin's help on Coruscant. Anakin then goes back to his starfighter to return to Coruscant.

Outcome

Anakin frees Raala and kills Saato.

The Battle of Coruscant

Setting the Stage

Anakin heads back to Coruscant and pilots a speeder to the high city. Anakin meets up with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan welcomes Anakin back, but tells him that the Separatist's droid army is attacking the underlevels of Coruscant. Obi-Wan tells Anakin that the Jedi are out in force, and admits that the droids are well organized. Obi-Wan tells Anakin that he will return to the temple for reinforcements. Anakin asks if he could come with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan says no, and tells him to join the fight. Obi-Wan says he's faced Cortosis before, and says that it will take all of their strength to defeat the Cortosis droids. Obi-Wan says that the situation is desperate and tells Anakin to go.

The Battle

Anakin fights through some Trade Federation battle droids and sentry droids. After entering the second indoor corridor, Anakin senses a disturbance in the Force. Anakin proceeds to the next room, and encounters a Dark Jedi named Trenox. Trenox says that Anakin is causing them trouble and, "I assure you, your efforts are futile. It might be time to rethink your path, my boy, the age of the Jedi is at an end!" Trenox then Force pushes Anakin to escape while he was unconscious.

Anakin must chase Trenox, but needs to make his way to the underlevels. Anakin fights through the super battle droids and heads for another speeder.

Anakin arrives to the undercity, and encounters Barriss Offee. Barriss was relieved to see Anakin. Anakin tells her that Obi-Wan sent him here and asks what's going on. Barriss tells him that her squad of clone troopers were overrun by the Separatist droids. There are too many for them to handle, and said that some are resistant to her lightsaber (which hints Cortosis droids in action.) Anakin tells her to rest and he'll take care of it. Anakin tells her that he's dealt with the Cortosis Droids before. Anakin fights through the Separatist droids and an occasional destroyer droid, Rodian mercenary, and Cortosis droid. Anakin provides as much assistance he can to the clone troopers, and then advanced. Anakin encounters Dexter Jettster. Dex asks Anakin how he's doing. Anakin says hi and asks Dex what he was doing in the underlevels. Dex said that he was trying to get supplies for the diner, but got caught up in the mess. Dex was shocked that a Jedi threatened him with a lightsaber before ducking in the Bentho's Nightclub. Anakin asks what the Jedi looked like. Dex described that the Jedi had a red lightsaber. Anakin tells Dex that was no Jedi and concludes that it was Trenox threatening him. Dex says the good-bye and tells Anakin to tell Obi-Wan to visit Coco more often.

Anakin enters the club, and tells Trenox to back down. Trenox disrespectfully tells "Don't give commands to me boy!" Trenox fiercely attacked Anakin, but Anakin survived. Anakin then chases after Trenox, fighting through Rodian mercenaries. Anakin enters the Core Bay, doing what he can to prevent Trenox from escaping. Trenox escaped via speeder, while Anakin tries to catch up destroying the turrets, Rodian mercenaries, a few destroyer droids, and super battle droids. Anakin encounters a bounty hunter. Anakin asks the guy where Trenox is. The bounty hunter says that Anakin is too late. He says that Trenox is destroyed most of the Jedi Temple. Anakin hurriedly heads back to the Jedi Temple via another speeder.

Anakin encounters Dooku accompanied by a Cortosis droid. Dooku greets him, "Master Skywalker. What a pleasant surprise... you are quite tenacious." Anakin was slightly enraged, "Dooku..." "Ah, and I see your arm has been replaced. Very good... it suits you." Anakin, enraged, taunts, "Step forward and I'll show you what it can do." "Such passion. I do wish we had more time together, young Master, but for now I must attend to destroying the Jedi Archives." Anakin was shocked, "The Archives... you wouldn't... that's a millennia of knowledge, Dooku!" "Yes, quite sad. But it has been helping your Jedi friends too long. This is a war, and without the Archive's information, my forces will soon put to an end to this destructive conflict. You would choose the same path, I'm sure, given the opportunity." "I will never be like you, Dooku." "You will never have the chance, Skywalker. Goodbye." Dooku leaves, and the Cortosis droid engages Anakin to a battle. Anakin sees a hologram of Obi-Wan. "Anakin! Where are you?!" "Master, the battle is a ruse! Count Dooku is here at the Temple- he's going to destroy the Jedi Archives! Do anything you can to slow him down, Anakin- I will bring reinforcemen... Argh!" "Master Kenobi! Are you hurt? Master?" Obi-Wan was not responding. Anakin says to himself "I have to do this myself." Anakin fights through the Separatist droids, and ends up at the Temple Library.

Anakin destroys all the droids in the Library, and encounters Trenox. Anakin asks where Dooku is. Trenox just says that he's too busy to deal with Anakin. He says that it's a shame that Anakin cannot understand the vision and power of Dooku's plan. He says that Anakin's devotion to the "silly" order has blinded him. Anakin is enraged, "Don't make me destroy you Trenox." "Hah... You won't live to see what the Count has promised!" Trenox engages Anakin in a battle. Anakin uses his hatred on Trenox, and succeeds at killing him. Yoda shows up on the hologram, and says that he's arrived with reinforcements.

Anakin asks "What about Dooku?" "Escaped he has. Return to the Council at once. Speak with you we must." Anakin heads back to the Council Chamber. Anakin asks, "Where is Master Kenobi?" Windu replies, "Wounded in the fight against Dooku. The Force will mend his wounds in time." Yoda comments, "Brave is Obi-Wan." Anakin apologizes, and blames himself, "I'm sorry, Masters- it never would've happened if I hadn't let Dooku escape..." Windu denies it, "No, you did well Padawan- it is the Council's fault: We should have sensed the deception earlier. And the information you've gleaned from Tatooine has been very helpful." Yoda says, "Hmm... yes. Much we have learned from you. Wat Tambor, leader of the Techno Union is he. He holds the plans to the Cortosis droids. On Metalorn he is and there you must go. Stop him at all costs you must, before construct more droids he does." Windu adds, "We need you to retrieve the schematics, and return Wat Tambor to Coruscant unharmed." Anakin accepts the mission, "Yes Masters. I won't fail you." Anakin heads back to his Jedi starfighter and travels to Metalorn.

Outcome

Trenox is killed. The diversion on Coruscant is destroyed. Dooku is chased away from the Temple. Anakin goes to Metalorn.

Mission to Metalorn

Setting the Stage

Anakin lands on the Metalorn Outskirts near the Techno Union base.

The Mission

Anakin fights through all of the battle droids, destroyer droids, and Cortosis Droids, Force jumping to avoid the floor alarms.

Anakin arrives at the production facility, avoiding more alarms while fighting through droid resistance, and an occasional turret.

Anakin arrives at the Factory Core, after fighting through more droid resistance. He finds some explosive charges, which proved useful to destroy the base. The best way to destroy the base is to plant them near the factory reactors. Anakin plants the charges on the reactors he could see (4 or 5 reactors). After arriving to the third part of the core, Anakin meets Wat Tambor. "So Jedi, we finally meet. What do you think of my factory?" Anakin replies, "It's a marvel of the Techno Union. I'm going to feel terrible when I destroy it." "What?!" "Then you're coming with me to Coruscant. The Jedi Council has some questions for you about your experiments with Cortosis." "Ah, yes, Cortosis. Let me introduce you to Vandalor." Vandalor shows up, who turns out to be the bounty hunter Anakin met on Coruscant. Tambor continues, "I don't think he approves of your plans for our factory." Anakin replies, "We've met before." Vandalor was silent. Tambor still continues, "And I have heard so much of your skill. I'm going to feel terrible when Vandalor destroys you. Claim your bounty Vandalor!" Tambor leaves. Vandalor was armed with a jetpack, a staff capable of shooting lasers, and a stunner that drains Anakin's Force powers. Whenever Anakin was hit, Anakin had to run and meditate to regain his Force powers. Anakin Force pushes Vandalor, and stroke him down before Vandalor could go airborne again. Anakin kept repeating until Vandalor dies. Anakin exits the room.

Anakin sees Tambor again. "Impossible!" "Next time you decide to hire protection I suggest you consult with the Jedi first. Now come with me." Tambor was furious, "Grrr! I don't seem to have a choice in the matter." Tambor reluctantly comes along. Anakin plants in the last charge. They had a minute and 30 seconds to evacuate. Anakin fights through the battle droids, two turrets, and two Cortosis droids. They both got out before the explosion.

They end up at the droid Factory Core, safely out of the blast. Anakin fights through battle droid resistance, and he and Tambor are out of the factory. Tambor was sad "My factory... my beautiful droids! The Jedi are a curse! One day, I tell you, I will build a machine to..." Anakin interrupts "Quiet... I sense something..."

Anakin enters another room, and Dooku shows up. "That would be your doom approaching, Padawan. Once, I thought you could be useful, but you are far too stubborn." Anakin retorts "... You are twisted, Dooku. The Jedi will put an end to your plans." Dooku was guessing, "Through you, I suppose, Master Skywalker? I think not. If you are the Republic's greatest hope, then they have much to fear. Remember what you lost when we last fought? That, sadly, is a mercy you will not be favored with again. Prepare to die, Skywalker." Anakin fights him, using his improved skills since his last battle on Geonosis. "You fight well boy. But you could be so much more." Anakin replies, "I am more powerful than you know Dooku." " You're wrong young one. If you were to release your anger you would discover real power." "Your mind games won't work on me." "What's this I sense? Confusion... sorrow. And something more... Pain. Pain over your... mother (referring to Shmi Skywalker's death)." Anakin was enraged. "Stop it now Dooku... or I will finish you!" If only you had released your anger then... you might have been able to save her." "Ahhh!" Anakin uses his hatred to overpower Dooku. Anakin finally defeats him. Dooku says, "So I am beaten. Now you have tasted the power of the Dark Side." "No. You're wrong Dooku." "Am I? My Master foresaw my defeat. You have yet to realize your importance young Skywalker. Today you have ensured the fall of the Republic. Dooku passes out. Anakin returns to Tambor's location, and escorts him to his Jedi Starfighter. After returning, Anakin heads to the Council.

"I have defeated Count Dooku and destroyed the Cortosis droid factory on Metalorn, my Masters." Windu replies, "You have struck a critical blow to the Separatists and their war effort. What of Wat Tambor?" "Supreme Chancellor Palpatine requested that he held under the watch of his personal guards." "That is an interesting request. The Council will speak with him about this matter later. As for you, Padawan... to have faced Count Dooku and survived is impressive. Your skills are advancing rapidly." Yoda adds, "Yes. Powerful have you become! Mmm, powerful." Anakin says, "Thank you Masters. I was able to help the Order." Yoda says, "Vigilant we must be now. A growing shadow of darkness I sense. Weary from war the Republic grows." "I will always be here to serve the Jedi, Master Yoda. I give you my word..."

Outcome

Anakin Skywalker kills a clone of Count Dooku.

Wat Tambor is under watch by Palpatine's personal guards. Anakin destroyed the factories on Metalorn and is succumbing to the dark side very slowly. The Jedi Council is starting to be suspicious of Palpatine. Bounty hunter, Vandalor, is killed.
