The First Battle of Rhen Var

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi

Setting the Stage

The Separatist's first target was very unexpected.  The Snow covered Rhen Var, although in the Republic for centuries, contained nothing more than a few colonies.  When the Republic found that the Separatist were attacking Rhen Var, it was too late to mount a full scale force.  As Obi-Wan and Anakin were traveling through the Rhen Var system, probably in between hyperspace jumps, Anakin commented that he was hoping for some excitement.  Just then, Kenobi spotted blips on his sensors.  They turned their Jedi Starfighters to see a Trade Federation invasion army heading for Rhen Var.  Obi-Wan said they should call it in but due to Anakin's recklessness, the two Jedi had already been spotted.  The two of them decided to single handedly evacuate the planet.

The Battle

Once they arrived down on the planet Anakin and some clone troopers took a few Gunships on a series a missions to evacuate the planet.  It was not easy with all the droid starfighters, and Separatist ground forces.  But with Anakin Skywalker at the helm of one of the Gunships, the majority of the evacuation was successful.

Outcome

Rhen Var is taken over by the Separatists.  Anakin Skywalker continues to sharpen his piloting skills.  The Jedi are curious as to why the Separatists would want Rhen Var.

The First Battle of Tatooine

Key Characters

Sev'rance Tann, Boorka the Hutt, Count Dooku

Setting the Stage

After escaping Geonosis, Dooku tells Tann that Boorka the Hutt has important information vital to the Confederacy. Before going to Tatooine, Tann is sent to one of the moons that the Banking Clan has abandoned to gather resources and use them to build the droids they need.

The Battle

Once on Tatooine, Tann and her army fought past Boorka's guards, and that gave Boorka a great respect for Tann.  Boorka then tells Tann that he will tell her the information, but only after she destroys the Republic spaceport.  Tann and her droid army overwhelmed the Republic Army and succeeded.

Outcome

Boorka's information was that the Republic was building a secret weapon called the Decimator.  It is like a tank, but with a big crystal ball on top of it, which fires a powerful laser capable of hitting air and ground targets.

Key Characters

Sev'rance Tann, Count Dooku

Setting the Stage

Sev'rance Tann then goes to the planet Eredenn. .

The Battle

Tann's army exterminates the Republic army there and captures the research facilities for the Decimators. She retrieves them and grabs a protocol droid that has data on the Decimators.

Outcome

Sev'rane Tann is one step closer to having the Decimators under her control.

The First Battle of Alaris Prime

Key Characters

Sev'rance Tann, Count Dooku

Setting the Stage

Although Sev'rance Tann has the Decimators, the Confederacy is not able to use them.  The Republic had put in a fail-safe system on the Decimators should the weapon fall to enemy hands.

The Battle

In order to bypass the fail-safe system, Tann went to Alaris Prime, a colony that the Wookiees claimed from the Trade Federation before the Battle of Naboo.  The Wookiees were the ones that had developed the Decimators. Tann's army exterminated the Wookiee and Republic opposition and got the fail-safe system bypassed.  Dooku told Tann to test the Decimators on the planet Sarapin.

Outcome

Sev'rane Tann gets the Decimators, the Wookiee's dislike of the Confederacy increases, Tann heads to Serapin, and Alaris Prime is taken by the Confederacy.

The Battle of Raxus Prime

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, Boba Fett, Cydon Prax

Setting the Stage

It came as quite a shock when it was discovered that the Separatists had a base on the garbage dump of the galaxy, Raxus Prime.  While waiting for the rest of the attack force to arrive, Anakin and Obi-Wan went down to investigate.

The Battle

Anakin and Obi-Wan riding on swoops kept from being discovered by blasting any stap mounted battle droids that saw them.  They made their way to a large digging site.  They didn't know what but Dooku was looking for something.

In the mean time, young Boba Fett was having troubles of his own.  Exploring secretly, since the Count wouldn't let him out of his room, Boba found the digging site.  He found out that they were looking for an ancient Sith artifact called the Force Harvester.  Every time he escaped Dooku's henchman, Cydon Prax, Cydon always found him and brought him to the Count.

Obi-Wan and Anakin proceeded to destroy three convoys in their Jedi Speeders.  This readied things for the troops to land.  Kenobi and Skywalker then escorted the troops to the digging site.  After the troops destroyed the digging site, Anakin spied Dooku heading for his ship.  Skywalker snuck aboard Dooku's ship.  There, he confronted Dooku.  Before they could begin dueling, Cydon Prax started shooting Anakin.  Unable to fight both opponents Skywalker was hit by a stun bolt from Prax's gun.  He was thrown in prison along with Bera Kazan-a young female mercenary.  She admitted to helping Cydon find the Force Harvester.  Before the Republic forces arrived, Dooku found the Force Harvester.

Obi-Wan could not do anything but look on helplessly.  A huge droid called a protodeka attacked him.  By the time he dispatched it, the Count's ship was gone.

Boba was found by a group of clone troopers.  He was put on a Republic assault ship along with other orphans.  There, he made a friend, but when they arrived at Cloud City on Bespin, the orphans' new home, he was forced to choose between friendship and self-sufficiency.  Aurra Sing had been following them in the Slave 1 and Boba chose to go with her.  The two bounty hunters struck a deal.  They would split Jango's saved up fortune fifty-fifty because it would take both of them to get it.

Outcome

Count Dooku finds the Force Harvester.  Anakin is captured by Dooku.  Boba Fett teams up with Aurra Sing.

The Battle of Raxus Prime Part 2

Key Characters

A Jedi, five clone troopers, and Ly Merrbil

Setting the Stage

A Jedi on the remote planet of Raxus Prime is commanding a squad of five clone troopers. Because Count Dooku has established his secret headquarters here, the Republic Army has made a surprise attack. Dooku has managed to escape, but there are still many important Separatists left to capture. The Jedi's squad has been assigned to trap Ly Merrbil, a scientist involved in the Separatist Army's weapons program. The Jedi has tracked him down to the subterranean lair that Dooku was using as a base. But the Jedi is not getting in without a fight.

The Battle

As the Jedi approaches the lair's entry, he finds it guarded by five battle droids. With the clone troopers backing the Jedi Up, he manages to disarm the droids using ultimate skill. The entry is clear, and he proceeds.

The Jedi has been given a rough plan of Dooku's lair, and knows exactly where Ly Merrbil is likely to be--his underground laboratory, where all his data is stored. The Jedi must get to him before he deletes it.

The Jedi leads his squad through dark passages. He looks into the rooms he passes and realizes they all appear to have windows--an impossibility this far underground. They must be screens projecting outdoor scenes. Another one of Dooku's illusions.

As the Jedi is halfway through the narrow, doorless corridor that leads to Merrbil's office, he feels a warning in the Force.

It's a trap!

A door seals behind the Jedi, and a super battle droid appears in front of him. There's nowhere for the Jedi to go. The super battle droid launches a concussion grenade right at him. The Jedi catches the grenade and throws it back at the super battle droid before it explodes. The Jedi manages to disable the super battle droid with its own grenade. He and his troopers then proceed.

The Jedi hurries his squad forward and finds the hall that leads to Merrbils laboratory. The Jedi can see him inside, desperately destroying all of Dooku's scientific secrets. The Jedi also sees two of Dooku's guards watching over him. They see the Jedi, too, and move to attack. The Jedi defeats the two guards, and proceeds into the laboratory, where he must stop Merrbile from destroying the data.

As the Jedi's troopers guard the door. He moves forward to prevent Merrbil from destroying any more data. The Jedi stops Merrbil before he can totally destroy the information, he was seeking.

The Jedi managed to capture someone from Dooku's team. Even though Dooku himself escaped, Ly Merrbil will hopefully be able to provide information that will help the Jedi as he continues to fight the Clone Wars.

Outcome

Ly Merrbil is captured.

The Second Battle of Alaris Prime

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker, Bera Kazan, Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi

Setting the Stage

Anakin and a female mercenary named Bera Kazan were captured by Dooku. He took them both to a moon of Kashyyk where he would test the Force Harvester. This moon is Alaris Prime, the same place that Sev'rance Tann took over earlier.  As soon as the Count left, Anakin used the Force to break free from prison, retrieve his lightsaber from a battle droid and release the other prisoners. Skywalker and the mercenary escaped into the woods on STAPs, just barely avoiding the effects of the Force Harvester. Finally out of it's range, they arrived at a Wookiee settlement.

The Battle

Using a stolen Trade Federation tank, Anakin snuck into a Separatist base long enough to contact the Republic. With a double blasting cannon mounted on a local animal, Anakin and the mercenary succeed in holding off the Separatists until the Republic could arrive.

Upon the Republic's arrival, Obi-Wan joined Anakin. Both riding on Jedi speeders, they made short work of the remaining enemy forces.

Somehow the Force Harvester was retrieved in time and Dooku and his new weapon were still at large.

Outcome

Anakin escapes. Kashyyk's moon, Alaris Prime, is liberated. Count Dooku successfully tests the Force Harvester. The Force Harvester was also tested on Mon Calamari, Agamar, and Bakura.

Mission to The Wheel

Key Characters

Aayla Secura, Quinlan Vos, Khaleen Hentz, Zenex, Tookarti, Count Dooku, Darth Sidious

Setting the Stage

On the space station The Wheel, a professional thief named Khaleen has stolen a data disk from a Falleen named Zenex, acting on the orders of Tookarti, a Chadra-Fan. Zenex and his henchmen are chasing her through the station.

Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, Yoda and Mace Windu have reluctantly agreed with Chancellor Palpatine that the Jedi must continue to assume command of the clone army. Besides his philosophical objections to Jedi acting as generals, Yoda knows it will be difficult for them to do this in addition to their usual peacekeeping duties. The Council is calling on all Jedi to act as generals for the clones; however, some are not heeding the summons back to Coruscant. Mace says he will look into that himself. Republic forces are spread too thin, and they don’t know where the Confederacy of Independent Systems will strike next. In the two years since the Separatists declared their intentions, Tholme and Quinlan Vos have pieced together a spy network that has been their eyes and ears among the Separatists. However, Quinlan missed the last rendezvous and has not responded to Tholme's inquiries. There is word of an ex-Kiffex-Guardian gun-for-fire named Korto Vos on The Wheel and they think it may be Quinlan.

The Mission

Aayla Secura has gone there posing as a down-on-her-luck mechanic named Jaayza.  She soon finds Quin/Korto, although she has to beat up some hired goons first. Quin feels badly because he knew nothing about what the CIS was planning on Geonosis, and 200 Jedi died there. Aayla says, in effect, don’t sweat it.

Tookarti, who is working for Korto Vos, A.K.A. Quinlan, has found Khaleen cornered in a garbage pit by a large dianoga.  Quin and Aayla rescue Khaleen.  Aayla activates the disc. It contains a holographic message from Nute Gunray, Trade Federation Viceroy—the CIS is going to attack the Republic’s cloning facilities on Kamino (leading directly into Republic #50). Aayla wants to immediately take the disc to the Jedi High Council. Quin says no, they must make a copy of the disc. For the first time, the Republic knows where the CIS is going to be before they attack, therefore the CIS mustn’t realize their plan has been compromised, therefore Zenex must be allowed to recover the disc.

Khaleen overhears the two Jedi talking, and volunteers to return the disc to Zenex. However at the rendezvous, Zenex tries to kill Khaleen, and in the resulting skirmish Aayla kills Zenex. Quin has Tookarti find Zenex’s contact, time of meeting, and location for meeting. The contact is a Neimoidian. Quin meets the contact and does a Force mind-trick on the Neimoidian so that the contact thinks that the rendezvous went as planned and Zenex gave the Neimoidian the disc.  Aayla is going to Coruscant with her copy of the message. However, Quin feels he can be of best use on The Wheel, monitoring the spynets. “There are plenty of Jedi for generals," he says. Aayla is worried that if he's there too long, Quin will begin to lose the distinction between himself and the criminals on The Wheel. She also points out that Khaleen is in love with Quin. Quin says he’ll be careful.

In the final scene, Tookarti is communicating via hologram with Count Dooku and Darth Sidious in their secret lair on Coruscant. Tookarti reports that the Republic has the CIS’s plans, but the CIS doesn’t know the Republic has the plans. After the communication, Sidious tells Dooku that the upstarts wishing to displace Dooku will be disgraced when their attack on Kamino fails. Dooku says to Sidious that by alerting the Republic to the CIS’s plans to attack the cloning facilities, they will be preserved for the Siths’ use after the war is over (to create storm troopers, apparently), and that the coming battle will weaken factions that might have been an impediment to the Sith later. Sidious points out that Jedi will die in the battle, which of course works to the Sith's advantage in the long run.

Outcome

Aayla finds Quinlan Vos.  Zenex is killed.  The Republic learns of a coming attack on Kamino.

The First Battle of Mirgoshir

Key Characters

Mace Windu, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker

Setting the Stage

Shortly before the battle of Raxus Prime a large Republic fleet was assembled. There were about 30 Jedi Starfighters present. Mace Windu and Yoda were talking to Obi-Wan and Anakin in a small briefing room. They told Skywalker and Kenobi to go to Raxus Prime as an advance force saying that, "Two more pilots won't make big difference in the battle of Mirgoshir."  Apparently the battle of Mirgoshir was going to be a huge battle.

The Battle

What happened exactly is unclear.  By the time both the battle of Raxus Prime and the battle of Alaris Prime were over the Confederacy had at least partial control of the system.  This is evidenced by the fact that Mon Calamari, Agamar, and Bakura all reported terrible and devastating effects from the “force harvester."  Agamar is located in the Mirgoshir system, meaning that for the harvester to be used on Agamar.  The system had to be controlled by the Confederacy.

Outcome

The Confederacy takes the Mirgoshir system.

The Battle of Bespin

Key Characters

Mace Windu, Boba Fett

Setting the Stage

Bespin is home colonies of Tibanna Gas miners.  Although found on other planets as well, Tibanna Gas from Bespin is the only kind that is naturally spin-sealed, making it very valuable.  During the Clone Wars, Bespin was also home to an orphanage for children whose parents died in the war.  Boba Fett at one time had the option of living there as an orphan.

The Battle

For the reasons listed above, the Confederacy chose to attack Bespin.  We don't know the details of the battle, but Mace Windu reported right before the Second Battle of Rhen Var that, "We just lost Tibana colonies on Bespin."

Outcome

Bespin is taken by the Confederacy.  The orphans there are probably either captured or killed.

The Second Battle of Rhen Var

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ulic Quel Drama's ghost

Setting the Stage

Mace Windu informs Obi-Wan and Anakin that the Force Harvester is only the power plant for a deadly weapon called the Dark Reaper. During the Great Sith Wars, Ulic Quel Drama learned how to avoid it's effects. He tells them that Ulic's tomb is on Rhen Var.

The Battle

Obi-Wan and Anakin land on Rhen Var. The Republic army, together with Kenobi and Skywalker, succeed in taking Rhen Var back from the Separatists.

The hardest part is when they're done. Anakin drives his speeder into Ulic's tomb only to be met by powerful ghosts protecting the ancient master. By destroying their tombs one-by-one, Anakin defeats the spirits. Then he finally talks to Ulic Quel Drama. He tells Anakin how to temporarily withstand the Dark Reapers effects.

Outcome

Rhen Var is retaken by the Republic. Anakin learns how to temporarily withstand the Dark Reaper's effects.

The Battle of Ossus

Key Characters

Ood Bnar

Setting the Stage

The planet Ossus is the third planet in the Adega system. It's history is tied to the history of the Jedi and Sith wars and it is even speculated that the Jedi Order originated there. During the Clone Wars, it was home to large cities and a Jedi stronghold. Enemies of the Jedi such as the Confederacy would find this to be a prime target.

The Battle

At this point we don't know exactly what happened. However, right before the Second Battle of Rhen Var, Mace Windu stated that, "Ossus will fall within days." Apparently, the Confederacy took the planet early in the war. Whether any attempt will be made to take it back is unknown.

Outcome

Jedi Master Ood Bnar managed to survive all of the fighting on Ossus. This was because, in an attempt to preserve a cache of lightsabers, Master Ood Bnar initiated his lifecycle change, becoming a gnarled old tree with the lightsabers entangled in his roots. No one would suspect a tree of being a Jedi and therefore he survived the Clone Wars.

The Battle of Thule

Key Characters

Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Cydon Prax

Setting the Stage

Mace Windu and Yoda discover that the Force Harvester and Dark Reaper are both on the planet Thule, home to an ancient Sith city.

The Battle

Before they could strike at the planet, the Republic had to destroy it's energy shield. This shield was located on the Thule moon. With the help of Anakin Skywalker, they are able to destroy the shield.

Getting into the city was not easy. Communication had be broken between the city and the Separatist forces. It took a lot of heavy fighting, but with the combined effort of Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the city was finally accessible.

The final part of the mission was Anakin's job. He alone knew how to withstand the Dark Reaper. Skywalker, riding in a Jedi speeder with only a small escort, battled his way through the city to where the Dark Reaper was.  In his way, was Cydon Praxon a oddly shaped speeder. Prax was no match for Skywalker. With his speeder destroyed, Cydon is presumably dead.

Anakin finally faced the Dark Reaper in a final battle. It had loads of weapons, including it's beam of Force energy. The latter, Anakin could withstand for a short time. The other weapons were not so easy.  Wth the guidance of Ulic's ghost, Anakin destroyed the Reaper bit by bit, weapon by weapon. All that was left was the Harvester itself. Skywalker then destroyed that too.

Outcome

The Republic takes over Thule. The Dark Reaper and Force Harvester are destroyed by Anakin Skywalker. Cydon Prax is killed.

The Second Battle of Mirgoshir

Key Characters

Mace Windu, clone trooper

Setting the Stage

At the end of the Battle of Thule, with the Dark Reaper destroyed, a clone trooper said to Mace Windu, "We can now move on to the Mirgorshir system."

The Battle

What this means is unclear, but Leland Chee said, “In the game, Mirgoshir (the system where Agamar is located), falls to the Confederacy with the Republic poised for a counterstrike by game's end. No resolution to the conflict is ever provided."

In other words, the Confederacy had control of the system as of the battle of Thule.  Whether the forces that took Thule were able to take back the system is unclear, but from the size of the force we can probably assume that it was taken back eventually.

Outcome

The Republic retakes the Mirgoshir system?

The First Battle of Sarapin

Key Characters

Sev'rance Tann, Jor Drakis

Setting the Stage

Before testing the Decimators, Tann had to destroy the Republic opposition stationed on an asteroid field 425 orbiting Sarapin.  It had a shield generator power relay which must be destroyed before entering the atmosphere.  Tann and her army succeeded.

The Battle

Once on Sarapin, Tann used all of her droid army and the newly-acquired Decimators crush the Republic bases (at least 5 armies), capture a Republic Citadel called Mt. Corvast, and kill a Jedi Knight named Jor Drakas.  Sev'Rance is then stationed on Krant, producing the Decimators.

Outcome

Sev'rane Tann uses the Decimators to take Sarapin and Jor Drakis is killed.

The Second Battle of Sarapin

Key Characters

Mace Windu, Echuu Shen-Jon, Naat Reath, Zian Finnis

Setting the Stage

A week later... Whenever Mace Windu is at Coruscant taking a break from battle, he tells Echuu where to go on his missions.  Mace Windu learned of Tann's victory on Sarapin, and had Echuu go to Sarapin to bring back the planet.  Echuu was paired up with Naat Reath, Stam's sister.  The Council felt that it was not the wisest idea.

The Battle

Once on Sarapin, Echuu and Naat saw the remains of the deactivated Decimators.  Along with the clone army, Echuu and Naat fought through the Confederacy and Trade Federation armies.  After regaining the citadel Mt. Corvast, Echuu and Naat captured a Confederacy officer, Zian Finnis.

Outcome

The Republic retakes Sarapin, Zian Finnis is captured, and Echuu takes on his former Padawan's sister, Naat.

The Second Battle of Tatooine

Key Characters

Echuu Shen-Jon, Naat Reath, Zian Finnis, Jabba the Hutt, Boorka the Hutt

Setting the Stage

Echuu has learned from Zian Finnis that the Hutt Cartel has knowledge of the whereabouts of Tann.

The Battle

Once on Tatooine, Echuu and Naat met Jabba.  Jabba knows that Boorka is in league with the Confederacy and felt that Boorka has gone too far.  Echuu and Naat's starting army is not enough.  Once they went into town, the citizens told them that Tusken Raiders have been attacking at night, but will help give them the resources and worker droids to build up their army.  Echuu and Naat then go to the Tusken Village east of town and killed all of them.  The citizens thank them and then give them the resources and worker droids.  After massing up the army, Echuu and Naat kill Boorka and Jabba gave them 5000 nova crystals in return for the deed.  Echuu and Naat then destroyed the Confederacy base.

Outcome

Echuu destroys Confederacy presence on Tatooine and Boorka the Hutt is killed.

The Battle of Krant

Key Characters

Echuu Shen-Jon, Naat Reath, Sev'rance Tann, Mace Windu

Setting the Stage

Echuu and Naat learned that Sev'rance was stationed on Krant.  En route to Krant, the Republic has learned that the Trade Federation is illegally gathering resources for the Confederacy on the Krant's moon,  Aereen, after destroying the mining facility and killing a Neimoidian named Plure Barron.  Echuu was slowly succumbing to the Dark Side as he was fighting on and feeling that he is getting close to Tann.  Naat was unaware of this, but she also was starting to go to the Dark Side of the Force since she was filled with thoughts of avenging Stam's death.

The Battle

Once on Krant, Echuu and his army encounter Wookiees who were eager to help them.  Echuu accepts, and then destroys the Confederacy base.  After learning that Echuu and his new Padawan, Naat Reath, were on Krant, Tann captured Naat, and then waited for the fully-enraged Echuu.  That got Echuu moving closer to the full path of the Dark Side.

Mace learns of this.  Echuu was gathering all of his hatred to rescue Naat and avenge Stam's death on Geonosis.  Before Echuu goes on his mission, Windu asks Echuu if he knows what he was doing.  Echuu then asked Mace that if it was different from the rescue of Obi-Wan and Anakin.  Windu reluctantly agrees and then permanently lost contact with Echuu.  After gathering an army from an abandoned Wookiee base, Echuu destroyed three of the Confederacy armies.  At the main base, Tann demanded that Echuu faces her alone, or Naat would be killed.  Echuu knew the risks, but accepts as he is full of hatred.  Echuu and Tann have a fierce battle.  Echuu overpowers Tann and has slain her.  As Tann is dying, she tells Echuu that the Jedi would be exterminated, but Echuu was willing to strike Tann again, but Naat stops him.  Naat tells Echuu that it's over, and wants to return to the Council together.  Echuu calms down, but he realized his actions.  Echuu tells Naat to go herself, since the Dark Side would be part of his destiny forever.  Echuu tells Naat to learn from his mistakes and that she will make a fine Jedi someday.  He tells her that he will come back to the Council someday, once he fully learns from his mistakes.  Naat then returns back to Coruscant, but does not tell Master Windu about Echuu's whereabouts.

Knowing about the loss, and not learning of Echuu's destiny, Mace wrote for the record that Echuu Shen-Jon is one of the greatest and honorable Jedi of the Clone Wars. He sacrificed his life to save the life of his Padawan and in the name of the Republic and for the Council. Windu concluded that Echuu will be highly respected.

Echuu is hidden on Krant until he is discovered by Princess Leia on the Rebel Campaign of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.

Outcome

Sev'rance Tann is killed, Naat Reath returns to Coruscant, Echuu Shen-Jon stays on Krant to live his life as a hermit, and Confederacy presence on Krant is destroyed.
